Adventures in Food: Cupcakes
So if you aren't aware of it, cupcake bakeries are the new trend popping everywhere from LA to Palookah, Kentucky. (Not sure if Palookah is a real place, but you get the picture). So we searched out a cupcake bakery here in Indy, and came across The Flying Cupcake bakery.
Located near the Broad Ripple area, we were excited to explore this new spot. Upon entering we were greeted by a case full of homemade cupcakes that all sounded great. We decided to get two for $6 (these things are pricey!). We got "The Bee's Knee's" (a light honey pear cupcake scented with ginger and topped with honey buttercream) and the "Irish Car Bomb" (self explanatory).
We took them home to eat, and boy were they delicious. Not an every day sort of treat, but definitely a once in a while fun treat. Yum!

Adventures in Pop Culture: Kids Collectibles
The other day we stopped over at Michael's and saw the newest craze to hit the little kid market: Silly Bandz. Well, we'd already heard about them (and apparently there are knock off versions, which will automatically make you uncool if your mom buys them for you), and are still kicking ourselves for not coming up with something so simple yet profitable.
So there we are, looking at these specially shaped rubber bands, when what appears in front of us? Iwako erasers! Erasers that come in various shapes and cause children to run amuck in the streets. Not to mention their crazy moms that will knock you down to get them.
We had little knickknacks to trade when we were little, but when did it become a craze? It must have started with those damn Beanie Babies.

Adventures in Websites: ArtFire.com
As fans of sites that sell original handmade art such as Etsy and RIPT Apparel (Chunk even had a featured shirt on there!), it's always fun to discover new places that offer similar products. And so it is that we stumbled upon ArtFire.com, and artisan marketplace featuring artists from around the world. Major score! It's so much better getting original pieces to show of your adventurous side. So check it out, and have your own original artsy adventure.

Adventures in TV: Cupcake Wars
Summer is upon us and that means new summer programming on TV. While scouring the networks to find something decent, we came across a new show on Food Network called Cupcake Wars. Similar to Chopped, this show pits four cupcake aficionados against one another in order to win $10,000 and have their cupcakes featured at some sort of celebrity event (thus far it's been George Lopez's charity golf tournament and Sumar the whale's 12th birthday at Sea World).
With brutal judges, wacky contestants, and an array of sugary sweets how can you go wrong? Check it out and see for yourself.

Adventures in Movie Watching: Exit Through the Gift Shop
Chunk had wanted to see the Banksy film Exit Through the Gift Shop, and it finally began it's run in Indy this weekend. For those of you who don't know, Banksy is a very talented street artist known throughout the world. It played at the Key Art Cinema, which turned out to be a pretty nice theater. You can even bring cocktails into the movies if it's past 4pm. Sweet!
The film itself was pretty awesome and informative- definitely a worthy adventure. It follows film maker Thierry Guetta/Mr. Brainwash from his beginnings to his transformation into a full fledged artist. Amazing artistry and adventure in the film, accompanied by some awesome and funny moments. So if you're bored and looking for a film adventure....go see this film!
